About3minutes Productions began life in New York, where its founder John Paul Tansey lived, worked and played for over a decade. Working first at The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour (Public Television's flagship news show) then moving to a number of online media network startups, gave Tansey a unique window onto America's complex political and cultural landscape. A stint at MTV however, shed no light whatsoever on the reason for the existence of bands like Squirrel Nut Zippers and Korn - but he did end up with a large and very quirky record collection, so he's pretty chuffed about that...
These days, about3minutes is based in Melbourne, Australia and collaborates with a team of video production professionals to create content for television, advertising and specialist markets.
We take on each project with a philosophy that a great idea, story or message can usually be told in a well-constructed, three minutes package. Of course, that doesn't mean all our work is exclusively short-form - we've recently produced a number of acclaimed longer documentaries for broadcast - but we firmly believe in the notion that there's an art in telling big stories in short, eye-catching ways.
Ultimately, we think our stories have heart, engage and ultimately resonate. We hope you agree.
